Soccer Pool Rental – Giant Billiards Meets Soccer at Your Event

Take billiards off the table and onto the floor — then trade cue sticks for feet. Soccer pool (also called foot pool or poolball) is a life-sized mashup that turns your guests into human cue sticks, kicking soccer balls across a giant felt table to sink shots into corner and side pockets.

It’s instantly familiar, endlessly competitive, and gets everyone — from kids to executives — out of their seats and into the game.

What’s Included in Your Soccer Pool Rental

Every CoCo Events soccer pool rental arrives ready to play:

Giant Pool Table Surface Our soccer pool table measures approximately 30 feet long by 15 feet wide — a full-sized billiards layout scaled up for foot traffic. The playing surface features authentic pool table felt (green or customizable colors) with printed pocket targets, ball spots, and rack markings.

Full Ball Set 16 regulation-size soccer balls replace traditional billiard balls: one cue ball (white), seven solids, seven stripes, and one 8-ball. Each ball is color-matched and numbered to mirror a real pool set so standard billiards rules apply.

Inflatable Bumper Rails The table is surrounded by inflatable bumper rails that keep balls in play and provide the authentic “bank shot” experience. Rails are tall enough to contain kicked balls while low enough for spectators to watch the action.

Setup & Staffing We handle delivery, installation, and breakdown. Optional game attendants can explain rules, referee matches, and keep gameplay moving smoothly for high-volume events.

How Soccer Pool Works at Events

Understanding the logistics helps you plan space, surface, and flow for your guest count.

Gameplay Basics

Soccer pool follows standard 8-ball rules — just with feet instead of cue sticks:

  1. Break — One player kicks the cue ball into the racked balls to start the game
  2. Call your shot — Players announce which ball and pocket they’re targeting
  3. Take turns — Alternate kicks until one player legally pockets the 8-ball to win
  4. Fouls — Scratches (cue ball in pocket), hitting opponent’s balls first, or failing to hit any ball result in ball-in-hand for the opponent

Games typically last 10–15 minutes depending on skill level. Most guests pick up the rules within one round.

Space Requirements

Soccer pool requires significant floor space for the table plus player movement:

Setup ComponentDimensions
Playing surface30′ x 15′ (450 sq ft)
Player clearance6′ minimum on all sides
Total footprint42′ x 27′ (1,134 sq ft minimum)

For reference, that’s roughly the size of a half basketball court. Venues with open floor plans, gymnasiums, outdoor lawns, or large ballrooms work best.

Ceiling Height

Indoor venues need a minimum of 12 feet of clearance. Higher ceilings (16’+) are preferred to accommodate enthusiastic kicks and bouncing balls.

Surface Requirements

Soccer pool works on multiple surfaces, but some perform better than others:

Surface TypeSuitabilityNotes
Indoor gym floorExcellentSmooth, level, ideal ball roll
Carpet/low pileGoodSlight drag, still playable
Grass (flat)GoodOutdoor events, requires level ground
Concrete/asphaltAcceptableHarder surface, faster ball speed
Sand/gravelNot recommendedUnpredictable ball movement
Uneven terrainNot recommendedBalls won’t roll true

For outdoor events, we recommend flat grass or a paved surface. Avoid slopes — even slight grades affect ball trajectory.

Throughput & Capacity

Soccer pool accommodates 2 players (1v1) or 4 players (2v2 teams) per game:

FormatPlayers per GameGame DurationGames per Hour
Singles (1v1)210–15 min4–6 games
Doubles (2v2)412–18 min3–5 games

For events with 50+ guests wanting to play, consider adding a second table or implementing a tournament bracket to manage wait times.

Weather Considerations

For outdoor events:

  • Wind — Light wind is fine; strong gusts can affect lighter kicks
  • Rain — Not recommended; wet felt affects ball roll and can damage the surface
  • Sun — Direct sunlight is fine, but tented shade keeps players comfortable
  • Temperature — Playable in most conditions; extreme cold may stiffen the felt slightly

Frequently Asked Questions

How much space does soccer pool need? Plan for approximately 42′ x 27′ (about 1,100 square feet) to accommodate the table plus player movement around all sides.

Can soccer pool be set up indoors? Yes, indoor venues work great as long as you have at least 12 feet of ceiling clearance and sufficient floor space. Gym floors, convention halls, and large ballrooms are ideal.

Is soccer pool okay for outdoor events? Absolutely. Flat grass or paved surfaces work well. We recommend avoiding the game in rain or high winds, and tented shade keeps players comfortable in direct sun.

What ages can play soccer pool? Ages 8 and up can play comfortably. Younger children can participate with assistance. The game doesn’t require soccer skill — just the ability to kick a ball.

How long does each game take? Most games run 10–15 minutes for singles, 12–18 minutes for doubles. Skill level and familiarity with billiards rules affect game length.

Do you provide someone to run the game? Optional game attendants are available to explain rules, referee matches, and manage player rotation for high-traffic events.

Can the table be customized with our logo? Yes. We offer custom felt colors, logo placement on the playing surface, and branded soccer balls with advance notice (typically 2–3 weeks).

What if a ball gets kicked off the table? The inflatable bumper rails contain most shots. Occasionally a ball escapes — our attendants (or your guests) simply return it to play. The balls are standard soccer balls, so they won’t damage floors or walls.
